Quick Facts:

⦁ Position is a .9 FTE
⦁ Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on school days during the school year and approximately 25 days additional days beyond the normal Sept-June school calendar, normal workweek resumes the last week in August
⦁ One day per month, the clinic will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
⦁ Must be willing to occasionally help out at other SBHC’s with advanced notice, mileage will be reimbursed

New York City School Health Physicians have flexible schedules (Minimum 20hrs/week to Maximum 35hrs/week). Physicians working 20 or more hours per week receive comprehensive health insurance and other employment benefits. Duties involve a balance of clinical work in New York City schools, administrative tasks, and public health assignments. Work days are generally 9am to 5pm with no evening or weekend calls. Under the direct supervision of the AVP for Practice Administration. Is cognizant of, and insures that all operations are consistent with objectives, philosophy, standards and policies of Institute for Family Health.

•Ensures consistent performance adherence to all applicable policies and procedures
•Oversee financial management surrounding productivity, efficiency and projections with focus on improved quality
•Provides ongoing partnership management between the IFH SBHC program, school administration and other community based organizations that serve the population.
•Will perform systems audits and develop plans of correction through PDSA cycles for operating systems related to: access, patient and staff communications/engagement, posting, collecting, and securing payments, patient and staff satisfaction, and financial viability of the site(s).
•Actively participate in the recruitment activities for site operation support staff.
•Prepare timely reports on all marketing and outreach efforts..
•Participates in ongoing education offered either internally or externally to continually improve personal performance
•Will act as a liaison between Institute practice sites and Institute departments, external community partners, as well as Institute Senior Management.
•Ensures IFH and SBHC program compliance with NYS DOH and NYC DOH Office of School Health guidelines.

•Master’s Degree Required or 5 years internal supervisory experience

Experiences and/or Skills Required:
•Minimum of (5) years of supervisory experience in a comparable healthcare setting. Proficiency with computers including Microsoft and Windows Applications. Knowledge of JCAHO and Article 28 Regulatory Regulations
•Experience hiring, evaluating, and disciplining staff
•Decision making and problem solving
