NYC DOE and NYC DOHMH have agreed to permit portable and mobile school-based dental programs to work with NYC public schools going forward. Initial requirements include:

  • An approved NYS DOH application on file indicating all NYC public schools you are planning to visit
  • Sharing with our office advance schedules of when and where you are planning to provide services, and updates if there are any changes
  • Providing preventive treatment that is aerosol-free, to the greatest extent possible
  • Keeping children distanced at the appropriate levels when masked or unmasked
  • All staff are screened for temperature and symptoms at the beginning of the day per NYS guidelines
  • All staff in buildings complete DOE screenings as in the attached
  • Working with DOHMH Quality Assurance staff as required, on site or virtually
  • Advising in advance on what preventive services will be provided, such as including SDF
  • Additional requirements or information may be requested.
