2021 Spring and Summer Education Series for School-Based Health Care Professionals
The School-Based Health Alliance, in partnership with the Community Health Center, Inc./Weitzman Institute, presents the 2021 Spring and Summer Education Series for School-Based Health Care Professionals, starting March 16, 2021, and runs through August 31, 2021. As the pandemic keeps us from our traditional convention, we will offer multiple sessions and workshops virtually over the next five months, allowing for increased participation and low-cost CE opportunities.
The Series addresses the field’s priority topics, building the sessions based on suggestions from the SBHC field. We will kick off the Series with two Listen and Learn Sessions, one on Immunizations and one on Mental Health. We will continue the educational Series through the spring and summer (see dates below.) The workshops will focus on mental health, telehealth, social determinants of health, equity, clinical practice, and advocacy.
Continuing education is made possible through the Weitzman Institute, the research, education, and innovation arm of the Community Health Center, Inc. The 2021 Spring and Summer Education Series will have up to 10 credits available. For every session you attend and evaluate, you will receive a credit. If you attend all 10 sessions and complete your evaluation, you will get 10 credits. If you do not need professional CEs, you may opt to receive a certificate of completion for the session(s) you attend and evaluate. The Series has a one-time fee of $50.00 for 1-10 CE or certificate of completion.
For every session you attend and evaluate, you will receive a credit. If you attend all 10 sessions and complete your evaluations, you will get 10 credits. If you attend three sessions and complete your evaluations, you will receive three credits. * Reminder: Sexual Harassment Training Deadline
By October 9, 2019, all New York State employers must provide all employees with a sexual harassment training that meets standards set by a recent New York State law. New York City employers with at least fifteen employees must provide New York City sexual harassment training that meets standards set by a recent city law by December 31.
One way for employers to comply is by requiring their employees to complete an online training developed by New York City, which is available here: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/cchr/law/sexual-harassment-training.page That training also satisfies New York State’s sexual harassment training requirements.
Employers who are subject only to State requirements can use either the City’s online training, although not required to do so, or the State’s online training, which is available here: https://www.ny.gov/programs/combating-sexual-harassment-workplace
For more information about New York State and New York City sexual harassment compliance obligations, see Lawyer’s Alliance for NY’s Legal Alert.
