NY’s School-Based Health Alliance (NYSBHA) is preparing for its annual networking and education conference scheduled to occur October 25th and 26th at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown.

This year’s keynote is Dr. Steven Safyer, CEO of Montefiore Health in the Bronx. Recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders in Healthcare” this year, Safyer will talk about Montefiore, its commitment to the surrounding community, and how school-based healthcare factors into this commitment. Montefiore is the sponsoring organization for 25 school-based health centers (sbhcs) throughout the Bronx. His bio and those of other presenters can be found here.

Also presenting is Dr. Kerri LeBlanc, Co-Director for Bassett Healthcare Network’s School-Based Health Program, who will discuss HPV Vaccine Hesitancy; and Kyan Lynch  MD, Senior Public Health Specialist at the University of Rochester Center for Community Practice, presenting on cultural competency working with LGBTQ patients via CEI.
