Brandiss Pearson-McIntyre, a nurse practitioner for the Syracuse Community Health Center’s school based clinic at the Delaware Primary School in Syracuse, speaks on remaining steadfast and immovable at the Freedom Fund Banquet of the Auburn-Cayuga Branch of the NAACP.

FLEMING — Brandiss Pearson-McIntyre could have become just another statistic, an unwed mother with two children struggling in challenging circumstances. Instead, she remained true to herself, continued her education and soon will begin a doctoral program. Pearson-McIntyre told her remarkable story Friday night to 80 people attending the 51st annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the Auburn-Cayuga Branch of the NAACP. The dinner’s theme was “steadfast and immovable,” the very embodiment of Pearson-McIntyre’s life.
